Hi all,

As many of you have noticed, there have been a few changes to Realwomen. We've been working on upgrading from the old site for a while now, so whilst this was all planned, it wasn't meant to be live to everyone just yet. The fact that it is, is a bit of a muddle up on my part. :oops:

But.. since it's there now and people have seen it we may as well just keep it up. Bear in mind though that it is still a work in progress and isn't complete.

A few people have commented that their logins aren't working on the main site. For now, you'll be unable to log in to the main realwomen site as the system isn't finished. You can still login and use your forum accounts though, and we'll continue to accept new memberships through the forums. I've removed the login section from the main Realwomen homepage until we've got it working properly. From the main homepage any of the 'realtalk' links will bring you to the forums, as well as the latest post listings at the bottom of the page.

As always, we're keen to hear your thoughts about the site, so if you have an opinion, an idea, a request ... let us know

Hi Everyone

As you have no doubt noticed, we have moved to a new look for our forums.

This was a step we had to take in order to allow you to log into the rest of the site - Lee spoke quite comprhensively about why the forums wouldn't talk to the site but truth to tell, that's as much as I understood - that they couldnt talk If you want more details, I am sure he would explain for you!

For tonight, we wont be accepting new members but this will be up and running again shortly.

You will notice that some of the old features aren't with us any more and we have some new ones to explore - such is life, nothing ever stays the same! However, all the postings from the last forum will be available on this and Lee will be looking into whether the original forum's postings can be reincarnated.

One exciting feature you may like to have a look at is the profiles page. In the past you linked to images you used as your avatars, now you will be able to upload piccies direct to the site.

I am sure you will find lots of new things to excited about and if you find something that is broken, please send an email or a PM to Lee so he can fix it for us.

I hope you enjoy having a look around. It's taken us a fair few months to get to the point where the progress in the site redevelopment is visible, so we are all pretty excited about the changes!

We are working on PMs and are hoping to have them up and running again shortly.

No timeframe at this stage but shouldn't be too long. Sorry I can't be more precise but we will let you know if things don't go as anticipated and it is delayed.

Lovely work, thanks, it looks absolutely great! You must have been burning the midnight oil on getting this all running, so thanks it's a treat to log on and see the "upgraded" model!
