I loved the original series and really like Martin Clunes but cant cope with him in this role, especially as its screening straight after Doc Martin.

I am not fan of either the old version or the new version. I do not think my sense of humor is warped enough . i just want to shake that dopey secretary of his so I will not be watching it again. Is she handicapped, that one or what ? I am more of a CSI or Cold Case follower really than those silly so called comedys.

I tried 2 episodes of Reggie Perrin, ...both 15 minutes only, before heading off to bed.

I found it a bit weak, didn't laugh, but maybe it gets funnier towards the ends of the episodes?

Love, love, love Martin Clunes in anything.

A great actor, even nicer in real life documentaries.

Oh well, I am rather pleased to hear that not all of you share my taste in men. That means I don't have to share Reggie with many of you .... he is mine, all mine !
Except of course for that blimmen Jackie... with the good taste too!
Are we having our legs pulled over the "dopey" Secretary surely When I think of someone who is handicapped, it is certainly not her. She is hilariously funny, and brilliant actrss. Actually I love her almost as much as I love Reggie.

Mime, It is not a case of needing a warped sense of humour to appreciate this comedy. It is more just a case of needing a sense of humour full stop. A little itsy bitsy S.O.H would do and just enough to allow you to lighten up a little. Relax a bit you know .

Hmmm.. ye----s he's ok ( she concedes grudgingly) But isn't it funny. I cannot help thinking that the young men of today's movie fame cannot hold a candle to some of the older actors that were the heart throbs of the 50's 60's.
A couple of weeks ago I had the opportunity to watch an old movie " A Place in the Sun." The male lead was played by Montgomery Clift, opposite a very ravishingly beautiful young Elizabeth Taylor.
My Goodness... I had forgotten just how handsome that fellow was! Montgomery Clift was not particularly one of my heart throbs back then , but the other night , seeing him again, set my old heart pit a patting as though I was still sweet sixteen and I wouldn't mind waking up up in the night to find his head on my pillow I can tell you.
Second thoughts... maybe not. ...... my heart would probably just stop. Dead. Never to go again...... LOL
Anyway, I got to wondering why he had not stood out so drop dead handsomely back when I was younger, and I reached the conclusion that it could possibly have been that there were so many handsome men in that same era. They were ALL very handsome and charming , or so it seemed to this old star struck " has been" herself.
