Heh, heh! Funny how something so basic could be so-o-o-o yummy! JJ, you're most welcome to pop in - I'll chuck another breast on the grill (ouch!).
Regarding the biscuit thing, it's more of a southern thing to soak up gravy, isn't it?
The last time we were in LA, we saw a cookie stall and my husband went up and asked for two biscuits - he was met with a very strange look indeed. For our American ladies, we call cookies 'biscuits'. Though I suppose lately they're being called cookies more and more, I think the real fat, yummy ones are called cookies here (OK, I just set off another craving...).

tonights tea was bacon and egg pie (probably more like a flan to be exact but we call it a pie).

flakey pastry to cover a flan dish
4 eggs
1 small stalk celery & leaves chopped finely
1/2 large onion diced finely
2 rashers middle bacon chopped
1/4 red capsicum diced finely
1/8 teaspoon celery salt
1 level teaspoon dried parsley

beat eggs with parsley & celery salt
mix bacon, onion, celery & red pepper place on top of pastry and add beaten egg
top with finely grated cheese (I used a mix of mild & camembert)

cook in a preheated oven for twenty minutes @ 220 C then a further ten at 180 C or until golden brown.

Served two extrememly hungry and cold women.

I also cooked the bacon rind separately and then gave that to the cats... served two well fed and complacent moggies.

Now if only petrol wasn't $1.71 per litre! Your cooking seems oh-so divine! All I had was pasta spirals with tomato and tuna, like my old dietitician flat mate used to eat for dinner. It was yuck

My darling was sounding a bit flat when I phoned him earlier in the afternoon, so I thought I would cheer him up by making him a lovely dinner. We had eye fillet steak, mashed taties with lashings of butter and freshly ground black pepper; asparagus (at about $1 a stalk, would you mind?); and brown mushrooms.

I am positively drooling at some of these recipies especially kkkaty's lamb shanks recipie. Will definitely have to try that soon. I love lamb shanks cooked in the crockpot. Yum! forgiven, although we cook from scratch it really is a lot more tasty than anything that can come out of a box or can and usually doesn't take long to prepare. I always have canned and frozen sauces and veges on hand for when I really am in a hurry though. Delta, if you have a crockpot or slow cooker try the goat in that - it makes the meat very tender.
