One of my favorite recipes and one that is very popular with everyone in our family is"

Appetizer
Jalepeno Poppers.

Buy a dozen or more of jalepeno peppers. Slit them in half the long way and scrape out all the seeds and the stem.
I like each piece to be about and inch to an inch and a half long....so you may cut each half in half again, the short way.

Fill each quarter with cream cheese and them wrap it with a half a slice of bacon, and secure it with a toothpick.

Place each piece on a broiling pan and place in the oven at 350 degrees for about an hour or until the bacon has browned the way you like it.

That's it!

That sounds good too Jilly. How hot are the jalepenos eaten like this? I like chillies but not TOO hot.

A timely recipe with all those green tomatoes left at the end of the season. My mother used to make these and they were yummy. Just found the recipe again/

PICKLED WHOLE GREEN TOMATOES.

small to medium green tomatoes
1 litre boiling water
3 cups cider vinegar
2 cups sugar
2 cinnamon sticks
2Tablespoons whole cloves
Hot chillis to taste- I put in two large red ones
2 medium onions chopped
5-1- whole garlic cloves
2 Tablespoons whole pepper corns

Wash tomatoes, pack into sterilised jars along with garlic, chillis, pepper corns and onions. Bring water, vinegar, suga, cinnamon and cloves to a boil. Let cool slightly and pour into the jars to fill them completly. Put lids on and set in a cool place for several weeks.
