when I bought a new oven recently I bought a pyrolytic oven ( which translates as self cleaning) I haven't had the need to use that function yet but will do in the near future, I however have got into the habit of giving my oven a wipe over with a clean cloth after most uses, not all as I sometimes forget. I do this as it cools down to just a warm temp and this helps to keep the oven clean-ish. That aside for dinner I am having a sausage casserole, as I have been busy painting this afternoon and I require something easy, bung in a pot, shove in the oven and then serve with mash.....

Probably too late for tonight's meal Sandy, but I always have a stash of those Maggi meal packets, for just that.

I particularly like the BBQ sausage one,...most require only a cut up onion at the very least, but more elaborAte ones can require some wine added.

I put mine in the Micro every time.

Just look at the notes for requirements.

Rice is nice with them, plus a green vege & mashed potato.

Or Kumara mash. Doesn't take long to cook, about 20 minutes , & all very tasty.

Hope that helps to get in a few of them for moments like this.

since it was only me for dinner tonight, I made scallops scampi (just scallops in the sauce I usually make for shrimp scampi) and brown rice cooked in chicken stock and carrots. It was heaven on a plate.
