Forgive my ignorance again. Swedes and neeps? Are they turnips or celery root?

Swedes are Turnips aren't they ..those whith roundish globes that have purplish tops, below the rough green leaves and are a bit watery and strong flavoured.
In Europe they feed them to the pigs as they are very nutritious..
Oh I happen to love the pig, for he/she is smarter than a dog and also carries a gene the same as we humans do.. respect the pig ladies he/she is a beautiful creature...so poorly treated.
I have also had them on the farm a few decades ago they are not dirty they are quite amazing I cannot eat pork or duck..having known them.
