Hey Sylke,

If you feel like chortling - what a great word "chortle" is! - I think Mr. Green should do the trick. Click on "View More Emoticons" over to the left and he pops up.

Last nite and the nite before, did not feel like eating, as was not very well.
Rallied enuf to make a gorgeous casserole for dinner tonite.

Chicken drumsticks, placed in casserole,
pkt of mushroom gravy mixed with ginger,
garlic,
soy sauce,
oyster sauce,
plum jam, and fired it in among the chicken.
Added some of those frozen Watties frozen recipe veges.
There are several mixes of those, and you can pick and choose. Oh yes, also threw in some nobs of Jeruselem artichokes. (The onez that grow underground) Gives the perfect touch to the sauce, in anything you cook.
Tasty as :!: :!: :!:
Served with boiled potatoes, brussel sprouts, and zuchini.

Rachel there are some words which make you smile by the sound don't they? My daughter, when a wee girl, would burst into peels of laughter anytime she heard the word 'lullaby'. Hmm. I should remind her of that one day Thanks for the tip...I found old greeny..

forgiven Yep, here in the desert. The Aussies and Kiwis who live here remembered Anzac Day on Tuesday with a barbecue and I think one of the guys imports the 'Roo' meat. It is rather nice to catch up with some familiar sounding folk
Anzac Day is similar to Veteran's Day ... I will post the history on here in the weekend so you can read about it...unless another poster sees this and wishes to do so...
oh yeah.. Kangaroo meat is NOT an integral part of Anzac Day...but it was just a way of being a bit 'closer to home' I suppose...you dont have to eat roo meat on Anzac Day..

Well on Wednesday night we had good old fashioned bacon bone vege soup - bacon bones and lentils, split yellow peas and barley, with lots of chopped veges added a couple of hours before dinner. So thick you could eat it with a fork, and everyone loves it - nice and cheep too. But my piece de resistance lately was inspired by a food in a minute - I made a red kidney bean bake - the beans done with tomatoes, pumpkin, celery and onions and garlic etc, put int a baking dish, baked and topped with fresh bread crumbs with cheese, parsley and some olive oil, salt and pepper added. It was absolutely delicious, virtually fat free, and cheap as chips to make.

My husband loves gamey meat so he is having goat tonight. Now kid and younger goat is lovely, somewhat like veal or venison but he killed a couple of much older goats and I find them too strong for me mostly and a bit tough, will try a little probably but that is all. Dtr and I will have chicken.
