I am 43 and in good health. A little overweight I guess, but not more than 15 pounds or so. Everytime the weather gets above 60 it seems, my ankles start to swell. I sit at a desk all day, I drink lots of water too. I've been to the doctor a bunch of times and they said nothing is wrong. I don't understand it, I am embarrased to wear capris and shorts because my ankes are always huge. I feel like Job in the bible, I am being tested on how much I can handle, My Mom has cancer very bad and I have to have gallbladder surgery. I don't know how I should deal with this.

Do you eat a lot of salt. Try to cut it out completely for a couple days and see what will happen. My ankles swell bad and feet also and the Dr couldn't tell me what was wrong so I been doing a little experimenting myself. Also do you wear heels to work. Try wearing flats. I did all this and it seems to help but I'm by no means cured yet. I hope this will help you. Good Luck. My prayers are with you and your mom.

my ankles have started swelling as well but not everyday i call them tankles and its an excuse to put my feet up i have put on heaps of weight as well and put this down to menopause because my periods have stopped just like that! and yes i know i am a slackarse and should find the real reason but i dont have the time right now and menopause seems to be what everyone my age is going through

Hi I get swollen feet and ankles from sitting to long due Ive been told it is the pressure from sitting causing fluid to collect in your ankles, also on the water do over do it you can drink too much water which can be just as not drinking enough, you may be retaining fluid in your body that is not need rather than it being flushed out when you go to the toilet, did your doctor give you tablets to help with it?
