take 2, my PC conked out and away went the post.. but as I was writing:
How would the present Westerner cope with eating all the unrefined foods of the past centuries, even the simple basics of a hundred and fifty years ago? Each decade brings further refined or substitute foodstuffs that all seem to have additives 'put back in ' or otherwise suggested it is good for us, or we need it.
Most of this has become of course fron the clever marketing and mass production of foods. I just wonder though, would we adapt to the coure breads with natures grains, the milk from the cows, thick and creamy as it was collected? The cheeses naturally femented ? The veggies from the garden plot that had no fertilzers other that what nature provided.? The very air one could smell then, and rain was sweet to taste!
Is progress and the way we are controlled and conditioned to accept, really as good as we are led to believe?
