We have just tracked down a good chiro, do others use this methodology in their lives. What are you opinions and why?

Hi Delta. I am an advocate of natural healing procedures wherever possible and obver theyears had many chiropractic sesions for neck and spine. Howvetr, despite it working then I have found that those areas treated seem to have a more advanced arthritis. i.e meaing the 'crackings' were great at the time, but theyseem also to ahve weakened the areas cracked down the track.. ow crack track flack.back
Jest aside I do think if you have a really responsible practitioner you should be able to ask him what his opinion is. I was told this by another practitioner, not a traditional medico, some who are pro, and many against in favour of Physiotherapy, so have to believe this, suffering the past decade.

Also I had (ve) medium range osteoporisis which a few years pill treatment called Fosomax seemed to have reversed the porousness in the bones . (Flipping old crock I am) so cannot have any chiro at all now.
That has nothing to do with their practice of course.
This product to was then found to harden the bones as expected, but the structure was then like china so fractures still happened, they snapped not so much s;plintered from soft and porous bones . My mother broke her leg in the same place 4 times , snapped like china. She to had the same product for years. The last fall finished her days on earth.

I discontinued the pill on this discovery (OS not here) and now just taking chances with calcium suppliments and other more natural products.

OK I have truly jumped off your subject and on to my me me soap box once more..ahem... the ask about what did I think of chiro? Well I think they are very effective, depending on how many times the treatmenets are applied to the same location.
I also think we should ask questions too, no matter what we choose to have to alleviate our complaint.

I heard or read recently that chiropractic manipulation may have adverse effects later on and CC's experience seems to bear this out. Arthritis was one of the effects mentioned. I would be careful about this sort of treatment especially if it is an on going one and find out a lot more about the practice.

over here the field is not as well managed as I would like so I advise people to look for a person who has done the 5 or 6 year university degree. I would not use any other practitioner. "cracking" in joints has been scientifically proven not to cause arthritis but it can loosen ligaments if done excessively (like some who constantly crack their finger joints). We have actually lost a couple of great chiros here to NZ! one went over to teach at one of your Unis.

CC that level of osteo sound awful, I know I need to join a gym again and build muscle again as that decreases the onset of O.
