Hope you are all on the mend now What cough remedy did KKKaty give?

I used the Vicks Vaporub on my feet at night when I was coughing ( have a permanent lung disease called Brochiactisis or similar) and sometimes I cough cough cough as soon as I lay down, even if raised on pillows.. It worked!
Hale to Vicks!

Aha is this it I wonder?
Cough Cure
Juice of one lemon.
Equal amount of pineapple juice - it is about 1/4 cup of each I think.
A good big tablespoon manuka honey
2 - 3 finely chopped cloves of garlic
1 knob of finely chopped fresh ginger.
( get the last two ingreds. out of a jar nowdays)
Add enough boiling water to fill a whisky glass.

Does it have to be Manuka Honey? I always use the fresh garlic and ginger root anyhow.

Sounds rich!!

Funny CC, I was looking at a tv item about our Manuka honey, & there are some labels,...available in other countries,...which do not have the healing properties of the original Manuka honey.

I wonder if common garden variety clover honey, would do the same job?

After all,...all honey has the very beneficial property needed for good health.

Also, a lot of those night coughs, are caused by certain medication too, BP ones for instance.

I think your Ti/Tree is the same as our Manuka tree, so if you can get honey from that source, it will be healing.

Count all your blessings. the ones that cost you no money.

LJ, rub the Vicks well into your feet as you would into your chest. Just the soles.
I know that Garlic Drink is horrid to take, and I hope you do not have to sup at it for much longer! I found ususally after only 3 -4 nights of taking it that I have found myself greatly improved. It seems to get right down and break up deep seated phlegm, which then enables you to shift it out of yr system . My mother always used to say that any foul tasting medicine would be good medicine ! Little consolation when you are trying to get it down you though is it?

I can stop my lot coughing.
Just bring out the bottle of Buckley's Canadiol.

They will go blue in the face but they won't cough.

To kill time try working it to death.

Ah! Buckleys. It must have been put together by some sadist. Dreadful taste. I think I would choke rather than take it.
