I find that most of the misunderstandings on this site can almost wholly be blamed on the fact that people simply DO NOT read carefully before putting their own spin on. Just as people do not really LISTEN to others. I read Missyo's post and can understand her predicament. Sometimes, no matter how active a person is, how hard they work and how well they eat, that weight simply will not budge. Obviously the doctor has prescribed this drug to try and give her weight loss a kick start and I hope it works for you, Missyo. You are an intelligent person who will realise that it is only a crutch and a way of getting your body into a weight loss mode. Nothing you have said has suggested to me that you intend to use Reductil as a substitute for exercise and sensible eating. It seems to me, having a dairy farming daughter with a large family as well, that you can't really push your body along these lines any further and definately, with such a busy lifestyle you need enough calories in order to function. Good luck.

Thank-you Faye. I must admit I felt a bit attacked by that earlier poster and I reacted hotly. I appreciate you reading my posts. I was really after experiences from people who have had or taken reductil as I think first had knowledge is best. Of course everyone reacts differently to everything and people can only try and make the best decisions they can with the knowledge they have got so I was hoping people with that first hand knowledge would contribute so others can have a more informed perspective if they are thinking of reductil.

Haemorroids . That is what you really meant I think. They give you a pain in the back passage right? I got it reading this .It gets right to the tripe of ppl but your typing is not bad. Even experts can do typos. Shame about your F.U. head though. No hope for that Haemmy or do you prefer Roidyroy?

Missyo, please do not try reductil, i nearly died from using it, ive now got to take other drugs to combat its effect. I had a bad weight problem and could not lose weight, food was and probably is still a drug to me, i had a gastric band done which was my saviour, sadly now i have a body like a melted candle but thats another story Reductil gave me an enlarged heart, high blood pressure, artirial fibrilation (not sure if ive spelt that right) otherwise know as a dicky heartbeat, plus other things. Im sure many people have used it and been ok, but many have also died using it or got problems like me. I have to take tablets each day for the rest of my life because of trying reductil, and i hate the fact that you can buy it over the internet. Its up to you of course what you do, best of luck.

Re: Reductil 2 Years ago

Well, I started on reductill over 2 months ago and I stopped taking it just over 3 weeks ago and I think it ws the best thing to do. I was reccommended this drug by my Dr to help kick start weight loss as nothing else was working for me, and it was great for the first month, I lost weight over the xmas break, first time ever, and I felt good and had lots of energy. Then it started to go a bit wrong. I got dizzy periodically, I started feeling really tired all the time, the energy was seeping away and no amount of exercise would make me feel better. Leg cramps and spots started next. I've never been one for acne, 1 spot, once a month before my period was due was all I had since a teenager but then I went to breaking out all over, big nasty spots, really oily skin, my hair started falling out, my Dr said it was due to the heat wave we have been having and to keep on the reductil. I was doubtfull, and when the chest pains and irregular heart beat started I was off that drug quick smart! My heart has gone back to normal, my hair is still falling out but not so much and my skin is slowly clearing up. My energy is picking up again but I still feel wiped out at the end of every day. The lovely Dr is no longer working at the medical centre anymore, she was just a locum aparently, so I can't follow up with her but I don't care because as far as I'm conserned she nearly killed me, as I did with my own decision to take a drug I'd heared bad things about, but I'd also heared good so...unfortunatly I was one of the unlucky ones this drug didn't agree with. As for the weight loss, I havn't been on the scales yet, I'm still exercising and eating well but I'm gageing it by how my jeans feel when I do them up. For all those who would like to say 'I told you so' or "it's your own fault for not listening to us' I'd like to say yes, some of you were right, it can be harmful but for some it has been great so...there you go, just not for me.

Lets hope this puts the Reductil thread to rest, ..now you have given your experience on here,...to those who won't listen when told, ..Reductil damages most bodies.
Thank you Missyo.
I hope you can continue to shift those stubborn kilos now, by sensible eating & continuing your exercise regime.
It usually take a quite a while, so don't give up,...& you'll be rewarded with a changed body.
You said Reductil was only a kick start for you anyway.
Hey, ...a heatwave in Greymouth????????
First I've heard of that, LOL.
Anyway, all the very best for the future,
Lucky.

Missyo I have not come here to say that I told you so . Just glad that common sense prevailed in the end. You did not use this preparation for very long. Hopefully any damages will be minimal and short term.
I have had some other thoughts on your conditions though. If you have been feeling as though you are in the middle of a heat wave, when there is none really, plus palpitations , then it might be wise to ask for your thyroid functions to be checked now. Especially if you have still had some of these palpitations and intolerance of temperatures since you stopped the Reductil. Hopefully you were not taking this weightloss product for long enough to cause permanent heart damage but it could have been long enough to upset the delicate balance of your thyroid and this could require medical intervention to get right again. I know this only because of what happened to my sister. Ppl with thyroid problems usually have problems with hair loss and dry skin too. That was another point that made me wonder. . Thyroid problems can make you feel extremely tired and unwell and in this short post you have indicated that you have several of the symptoms. . It is only a simple test and worth taking I feel in your case.

Re: Reductil 1 Year, 11 Months ago

its pretty simple...if you burn more calories than you ingest, then your body uses fat stores to bring up the balance and you lose weight.....it is fundamentally impossible to retain fat stores if your body needs them to maintain organ and tissue function....i agree with the person who suggested a dietitian and trainer, as it is fairly obvious that many if not most people out there, obviously have no idea what constitutes a healthy diet and exercise regime
Missyo, I am glad you came to your senses before any serious damage occurred....in the future please try to remember that any synthetically manufactured substance is alien to your body and therefore not supposed to be there
Good luck
