StriVectin "wonder cream" 5 Years, 9 Months ago
Has anyone here tried StriVectin? I've just bought a tube. It's retailing in Australia for AU$240 which I'm not crazy enough to pay; I bought mine for $180 from a small distributor who doesn't put the department store 100% mark up on it. It's a 180ml tube so it actually works out cheaper than most anything you'd get from Lancome, Clarins etc.

I've read both good and bad reviews, some people rave about it and others complain it aggravates their skin, but am just curious to know if any RW have anything to say about it.

Rachel, that is a good price - its $US145 or thereabouts in Macys and Ulta.
Have been tempted to try it. There is also a vry much cheaper version available (under $US40) but Im a little nervous as my skin is sensitive.
I tried a sample of the new Christian Dior 'tighten/brighten/smooth/firm/reducewrinkles" cream which is $US150 a pot and which is being endorsed by Sharon Stone...and its lovely so am investing in that next pay day. Someone I know who did use Strivectin found it to be great and it certainly seems to sell well here.

Im buying the Christian Dior product instead of having the Brazilian Wax its much less painful!

Thanks for your reply Sylke, interesting to hear about the new Christian Dior product. They promise miracles, but do they deliver, that's the question? I bet the Dior is a whole lot nicer to use than StriVectin. It has a peppermint smell to it, which is kind of weird to be putting on one's face. My guess is they put that in just to warm up the skin and make you feel like something's really happening there. Ah, the things we do in the name of vanity!

Rachel...I did it. I bought the Dior Capture Totale today...but when I went to Macys to buy it the girl told me you have to also buy the Serum. SHEEEEEEET. Its another $100. How much is it in NZ or OZ????
I dare not think.
Anyway I just bought the cream and in the box it had a couple of sachets of the Serum.. My goodness. Its like wrapping your face in a bandage that is soft, gently fragrant and supports it ever so gently so you dont have to support it yourself (of course Im old.. and you young gels dont understand)
I just put on a small amount before I go to bed...face feels lovely!
But...I can see how I would go through a jar of $US150 face cream in about five minutes if I didnt discipline myself.
Give me a month and I look 18 and everyone tells me that I will let you know!!

Beauty Prods. Info please. 5 Years, 8 Months ago
Rachel...Strivectin is on sale at Sam's Club in a twin pack for less than one tube in regular store right now. Something I have bought which I like and that is the Olay Skin Polisher...an exfoliating cream which heats up when you add water. It refreshes the skin and is cheap. I got a twin pack for $17 ....

Besides the Dior and Chanel and Lancome available at department stores...I shop at Ulta and Sephora. These are cosmetic superstores.
They are orgasmic places to go into when you are a cosmetic junky like me. But...tonight I went to good old Walgreens on the corner to get some hair color and found a Touch Up pencil. I use Nice n Easy Root touch up but this is a crayon thing. I tried it.. Voila..no more greys edging up through the red. Just like that! This thing was around $2.99
Is it available there??? Have you got Lip Fusion and all the lip plumping and face plumping liquids? There are now so many face lift creams, serums etc available. www.ulta.com and www.sephora.com
are the websites for these stores.
Got two huge Dove bodywashes for $9.00 - how much is that???? These are the mega sized ones....unfortunately very heavy to carry back.

If anyone can be bothered letting me know about these things..that would be great.. thank you!

noone has responded to my post so I will respond myself

This is just to say...after using Christian Dior Capture TOTALE as endorsed by Sharon Stone..middle aged sex goddess.....I have to say..BUY IT. Dunno whether it is the water Im drinking, the fact that I have made a decision and am carrying out my plan and kind of
feeling the fear but doing it anyway...but my skin is looking so much better. I am going to try to get the Serum as well as the cream for a double whammy ....

but..just to keep my feet on the ground I am using Olay Thermal Skin Polisher once every couple of weeks (not daily) as well.

Hiya Sylke, I've seen the Dior cream as endorsed by Sharon Stone, and I've been curious about it. I've not checked out the price here in Auckland but I would imagine it's over the $200 mark. I've been a bit curious about Prevage, which I believe is an Elizabeth Arden product. Farmers here seem to be doing their utmost to promote it and that is $240 a pottle, not really big enough to call a bottle. I've also heard that using a serum in conjunction with a cream is supposed to work wonders. I wonder however how much difference it all makes and at a cost. I have pots of partly used creams and serums here and I've been looking for that elusive wonder cream but, to date, not really found anything. I am reluctant to splash out vast amount of dollars though if truth be known, and I knew this stuff worked I'd most likely splurge. Has anyone tried the ridiculously expensive Le mer creams (le mer or le mar? never remember which) I think they can go for anything from $500 and above, correct me if I'm wrong....would love to know if anyone has tried the stuff.
