Preservation of Beauty 1 Year, 3 Months ago
I believe that everything has it's beauty, but not everyone sees it. However, as far as people appearances and preservation goes, I do believe that cheerfulness and contentment are great beautifiers and are famous preservers of youthful good looks.
So be cheerful and happy or you might end up looking like an ugly, wrinkled up old monkey's bum in spite of that quick twice daily coating of Clarins or such ! : Your thoughts on my subject change please.
Would you rather end up with a monkey's bum, or a pelican's pouch appearance ?

Neither thanks KKKATY but every time I apply my face cream or oils now, I hear my grandson's voice clearly saying last year some time as iIwas then smoothing on a facila a night cream saying to me:

" It doesn't make any difference grandma, no matter what they say, we all get old".

Was that wisdom or just plain honesty from a kid?

I wish he had not said it for I hear it twice a day in my head when I am trying to soften those ever deepening mess of crinkly wrinkles around the face where I lost those teeth.

Watching Cher with her botoxed, frozen, expressionless, unlined face and Dawn French on the Graham Norton show the other night, I know which I would consider the most beautiful. Dawn French, with her round, friendly and smiling face just left Cher for dead. I imagine Cher is the oldest and looked a lot younger, but that youth came at a price and the price was a face that one could very quickly tire of. I know it's all in the eye of the beholder, but this beholder likes natural and character filled, thank you.

Have to agree Cher is quite the everlasting glamorous preserved beauty I think we have all seen, she at least does not show middle life in her body either as some others do, except the lips get immobile BUT, look at the personalities too the Dawn French is a jolly bubbly and attractive round and very popular lady you feel you could easily hug any time whereas Cher with all her exreme glamour one feels could not be approached with no more than a 'mwaah' at either side of cheeks..but she is the odd one out in the human social averages. I still do not know how she can be so sculptured to look as she does all the same. She is still acting and singing and I think dancing in a new movie that may or may not be good, but I have to wonder how does she get the energy at her age heading north in her 60's. Most are showing some crumblies or bones creaking somewhere as a rule of thumb and other! Have to admire that she is not just a contrived face and body, not is she like her original face...v different now.

Two of the country's most beautiful people were on TV One last night. Who else watched Mark Sainsbury's interview of the married couple in Christchurch? Earthquake survivors, both in their 90's and flatly refusing to leave their own home in spite of having no running water or electricity . They were just gorgeous . She said, *I was 13 when I met him and I still love him. * He said * she is everything to me ~ and she still a darn good cook ."
Their devotion to each other and the radiant smiles they had for each other was truly beautiful to see. Some of their 14 children had been to set them up with a bottled gas cooker, and they had their pot of water boiling on the hob to sterilize it or make tea.
On no, they were definitately not going to be evacuated anywhere , and they were gripping each other's hands so tightly you could see the whites of their knuckles. It was so lovely to see such faith and devotion, but it was also lucky that their home seemed to have suffered little damage apart from all the lliquifaction outside of it.
