I'm a doorknob *hooker* with vests, ....far too big in the armholes. but my best knee jerk reaction, is getting jerked by my dressing gown hem facing, on round drawer knobs. grrrrr.

Does it every morning! Duh. I should sew right down that danged facing, but......

My whinge is not about jeans but about designers who think all 'big' women are tall! My height is a smidgeon under 5 ft and off the peg clothes are far too long both in trous and skirts...shortening clothes ruins the look and many styles I would love to wear but can't...I look like a fat kid playing dress up!
I used to make all my own clothes but the fabric on sale today is for the sweet young things or women who like to show off their skin & undies!
How I miss the fabrics of the '80's..all silky and gorgeous colours...now it's black, grey and dull do-nothing-for-me colours...
I can't abide close fitting clothes either, especially trousers.
Lol...I had a look at those online shops mentioned elsewhere....only a tall younger woman could dare wear all what they sell..on me those clothes would look hideous...
Oh well... back to the Op shops for the retro clothes that luck sometimes brings my way!

Buying pants/trews were a pain for me. I wear 18/20 in pants and usually the legs are about 8inches too long... Classic Clothing have a range called Petite large ( I think) and I can wear theirs right off the peg.

Classic Clothing is now in the new Marshland Home Shopping, in the Bunnings area.
