Long Island clothes in Auckland this weekend 3 Years, 6 Months ago
|

Hi to the Aucklanders
Those of you who like Long Island clothes from the ChCh-based store ~~ or DON'T like the hit-&-miss nature of buying by mail order ~~ might like to know that they have an Away Weekend in Auckland. They will be in the Mt Albert War Memorial Hall, cnr New North Road & Wairere Ave, today (2.30-8.00pm), tomorrow (10-6) and Monday (9-4). I think Wairere Road is the street that Rocket Park is on.
I'm at work today but am thinking of going about 4. If any of you ~ KKKKaty, Jackie, Erin, Sandy?? ~ would like to meet for coffee first at Kings Plant Barn near St Lukes, send me a text or email.
Suse

That's good that Long Island clothing has arrived in Auckland, Suse.
I find their clothing is very nice,...but wait for their sales, where one can really get a great reduction on prices.

I shop quite a bit from there and was there last week for a couple of items for my hubbys work Christmas dinner function. I find the staff there very helpful and nothing was a bother.

Sorry Suse... I have been out all day, and have just picked up your post here. at nearly midnight. Would have loved to joined you for a coffee and a bit of a look-see. Did you go ? Did you find it worthwhile ?
I wouldn't mind going sometime tomorrow .
Today I went to the Calico Christmas Fair at North Harbour Stadium. My neighbour does wonderful quilting and other crafts, and she asked me to go with her. It was just so inspirational. Mind blowing.... well worth looking at. We spent ages there, and then we had lunch went back for a second look, and when we got back home in the late afternoon, her hubby said that he had been up the road and bought 3 T bone stakes and was going to cook dinner for us both. I said I would make a dessert, and so I did, and went back over there . I have done no chores, and no boring work all day! Fabulous!.

Hi Kate
Yes, was worth going and it is still on tomorrow if you are keen.
Changing room situation a bit frantic. While in my booth with about six items I was conscious of about a dozen women waiting outside. As I emerged to the mirrors to inspect each new look the waiting women were, variously, keen to offer advice, or exasperated to be waiting. This led to me making a hasty decision to buy a top which I really didn't need or suit. So I returned it this morning.
It was good to meet owner Phillipa and to have a chat to her about plans to open a branch in Auckland, should she find suitable premises. Aslo good to see the gorgeous white haired stunning woman who models in their catalogue.
