Thank goodness for ......... 1 Year, 1 Month ago
Long tunic tops and pants !
Yes, that is my usual attire most of the time these days. I wear them to work, I wear them shopping, and it needs to be a proper dress up occasion for me to wear a skirt of any sort, although, I do have a denim one which I sometimes put on to go to the shops. I was very pleased that I did not have it on yesterday.
I have been to the supermarket, and walking back to the car, I decided that I did not need the trolley because I only had two bags and could carry one in each hand. My car was some distance away, but that is OK I often do that deliberately, just to make myself get a little exercise, so I set off with both my hands full . I hadn't gone very far, when I felt my knickers starting to roll down . Down , down down they went, with every step I took, and I had no hand free with which to clutch them. Well by the time I got to the car, they would have been right down around my knees, if it wasn't for the fact that the crotch of my 3/4 pants had stopped them !.
Why do they do that. The elastic does not seem to be perished in my knickers, but I have had that happen before on the odd occasion. It actually makes me think twice about putting on a skirt at all now. If I had been wearing my denim skirt, my knickers would have been down around my ankles . No,I suppose I would have put my bags of shopping down on the ground and shoved my hand down at the waist and hauled them up again before they got that far but it is pretty disconcerting to say the least. I wonder if it is the actual fabric of some of my underwear ? These particular ones are very stretchy, almost like lycra, and they have a cotton lined crotch. I had thought that the stretdh of them would help hold my tummy in, but no chance of that I I can't keep my pants up even !!
Has anyone else ever had this bother ?
I gave up wearing pantihose a few years ago because of the same sort of thing. But, I can't really go knickerless !.

Could it be that you have no natural sticking out hip bones to keep them up KKKaty???

If you are square shaped, with hips little more than your waist,.....then slips, panti hose & knickers will all work down in time.!

I had the same problem years ago with Pantihose, that no matter how far they were stretched ......anything elasticised...will return to it's natural original shape.! Now I wear knee hi's!

Solution?

Braces??????????????

Any more?

I saw a woman once ahead of me who stepped out of her knickers which had fallen on the ground and carry on walking as if nothing had happened. We fell about laughing.

I don't know why this happens but check out thunderpants: they never fall down or go up your bottom - if you know what I mean!

I have wasted lots of money forgetting that there are certain types of knickers I must never get (the ones that roll down). I can only wear knickers that go right up to the groove just above my waist and sit there. I've had to go commando several times not comfy at all LOL!

Yes, I do know about Thunder pants AJ - nice to see you back by the way , my daughter swears by them as being the most comfortable knickers you can get. But, what I do not like about them are the fabrics they use. The last time I looked, they seem to be all quite gaudy colours and with large bold prints on them . I would just like them to do some plain black, or plain nude coloured ones. I am just not a fan of having bold prints that might show through my slacks, or skirts when I wear lighter colours or fabrics.
I know they are very comfy, and I know they are just about impossible to wear out, so they are certainly good quality. Whem my daughter was living in Switzerland she sent home for some and I still see them in her washing basket years later !. I mean, you just can't miss them when they are bright orange, Lime green and nustard coloured with black rockets or some such printed all over them !! LOL..

Thunderpants? ? ?

Never heard of them KKKaty.

I have got nice stretch fabric embroidered Lycra stretch pants for about $2 to $3 from the $1 to $8 shop...presently closed in the Palms mall.

They come in black, burgundy, cream, & light blue.

Even better than the Canterbury brand I bought for dozens of years.

And a bargain too.

I love my pants to match my bras.

No matter what the colour.
