Pantihose for tall women 5 Years, 11 Months ago
Does anyone have any idea where to get pantihose that will actually fit?! I am 6ft 1 and it seems that all the "tall" and "extra tall" pantihose just won't fit! I am sick of spending megabucks buying pantihose and then having the crotch somewhere down around my knees!

Oh Gawd, I have that trouble too Tania, and I am not even tall. I have given up wearing pantihose almost altogether. That is why I wear pants almost all of the time. When I do wear a skirt or a dress, I make sure that it is long enough so that I can wear knee hi's without them being seen to be knee hi's.
One of my absolute pet hates is getting a glimpse of anyone's bare flesh above the top of their knee hi's, especially if there is a slit in the back or sides of the skirt which goes up higher that the top of the hose. In that case, I shave and fake tan my legs, all the way up to the top, paint my toenails bright red, and wear my nicest pair of shoes. Another thing I hate about pantihose is that even when I do manage to find a pair I can on properly, they always rip at the seams down the back or in the crotch. You are scared to move in them, and then you end up having to ditch them after only one wearing! Much better, fitting and stronger ones available in the States. I stock up when I go over there, or if my friends come here they bring my a good supply of them also.

Shall I have a lookie? Tell me sizes and I will check out at Ross/Marshalls etcc...if no luck there I can try Lane Bryant, Macys, Dillars, JC Penney etc. Last Chance have lovely hose for .97c but colours are not always great....

I need: colours, sizes, textures, deniers etc.

Pantihose are an item which would cost very little to post and to buy for someone else.

I wish I knew the brand of the pantihose I wore today - so I can avoid buying it ever again! I thought I was just the goods in my black & red outfit, all co-ordinated. My partner and my Mum both commented on how good I looked. But during the day I kept having to do this "wriggle" to keep the tights up as they slowly descended with every short walk. Not a pretty sight. But I think I would have preferred onlookers to know why I was having to do a quick wriggle, than thinking whatever else they could have thought!!!!!

Ha. A sense of humour is a grand thing, even if it is only to laugh at ourselves.

Hi Tania
Well I have just wasted an afternoon trying to get patterned tights that have a control top/slimming brief in them. Just told the poor shop assistant in Farmers that their pantihose dept was a disgraceful mess. Couldnt find a thing in it. I have a special occasion coming up and wanted something a bit fasionable - not a chance. I have actually rung Columbine Hosiery direct 027 285 2770 Sue. Suggest if we women hassle the company they might provide us with tights we can wear instead of leaving that privledge to the short and skinny. I have not always been a size 18 but even when I was a size 14 the tights where always too short - I am 5ft 9". I am bitterly disappointed. Looks like I will have to get a pair of Bridget Jones undies, they where a passion killer in the movie and now in my life as well.

Lee Donna, I can so relate to your story! I have such trouble with pantihose, that I now rarely wear skirts or dresses for that reason. Every now and then an occasion arises when I really do want to look feminine and nice... just last week was one such time. I got all dolled up.. Wore a nice skirt - SandyK you know the one! Lovely top... nice jewellery, felt great. Pantihouse went on fine, running late, got in car, heard farting noise and knew I hadn't!..Yes.. split seam in crotch. Oh well, know one would know , way up there, and no time to go and change, she'll be right ! Got out at destination, and felt the "Running" down my leg, and as I walked across the car park. By the time I got in building could also feel them slipping down.. So the hitching commenced!.. Surrepticious little hitches and squiggles. Could feel the waist of them down at hip level and the crotch of them halfway down my thighs, kept expecting to see the 'run' appearing below the hem line. Gawd .. all in all, spent a very disconcerting and uncomfortable night. When I got home and removed the rag that was left of them, I found that it was a miracle that they had not dropped off me completely, the hole was so big it had almost met in the middle! I have said it before, and I say it again.. I HATE pantihose... I did think I had a solution for this "slippage" problem once, and that was to be like superman and put on the pantihouse over a pair of knickers as normal, and then put on a nice tight spandex pant on top of them, to keep the pantihose from working down. That worked fine, but I was cured of that practise by an extremely embarrassing situation. You have to remember when you go to the loo that you have THREE layers to pull down ... Oh.. yes! Pulled down two, and peed right through the 3rd pair!.   I might havve told you this story before, sorry if it is a repeat. I have had a few embarrassing situtions involving panti hose in my time. I reckon the best thing to do with pantihose is to use them to tie your tomato plants to the stakes. I HATE THEM!
