No travel for me, I had my holiday in Samoa and mustn't get greedy! I need to work during the Christmas hols.

Our family nornally goes away just after Xmas for 2 weeks or so. Something my father had specified to my mum just before he died was that he wanted his Trust to pay for us all to have a family holiday once a year. There's only 2 other of my siblings and their families who take up the offer, and me and Mum, but with kids and all there's usually around 12 of us! (Imagine all 9 siblings and kids and their kids? Impossible) This year, because we have done it sort of 4 years in a row, I think we've all had enough of it for the time being, so we ain't goin' nowhere. Mum's just staying at home, and I'll go and stay with her for 10 days or a couple of weeks sort of thing. And why not? She has a pool and all the comforts of home, and it's just 20 mins drive down SH16 from my house!

I had made no plans for Christmas but I did get an email from youngest daughter to say that she has booked their flights to come up and arrive on the 22nd, and she asks, "I hope that is alright with you mum ?" !!! Of course it bloody is !!

Yep... and for me, the young ones are what really make Christmas Jackie. I would be too lazy to even put up the tree and the decorations if it wasn't for the kids .

OMG. It is too early yet to be thinking of Xmas. Well I have not got over the last one yet, and just quietly neither has my wallet.
It was my turn last year to do the dinner . Everyone came and camped at my place. This year we all go to my sisters at Whitianga . It has just cost me the most ever for filling my car. Petrol has just gone up again. I reckon we should all stay in our homes this summer and give these greedy Petroleum people the cold shoulder for a while . They are just too greedy for words . It was GST last time, what was the reason this time ?
