Thanks for your support, Girls - I think the interview went okay - the outcome will depend very much upon whether the committee thinks my personal experience of stroke counts for as much as nursing experience does - my arguement is that all the medical information is out there on the Internet, in libraries, indeed in the Stroke Foundation's own literature, but the emotional, social and relationship ramifications of stroke can only truly be understood and explained by someone who's experienced them first hand. They still have a week of interviewing to complete, so I'll be on tenterhooks for some time yet. As soon as I know, you girls will too.

Fingers crossed for you Jode. I find your arguments very cogent.

I've just today been offered some more hours at the Stewart Centre and am thinking I'll probably stick with the devil I know. This job, I know I'm good at, it's one of very few in which I'm able to use most of my peculiar mix of skills, and besides, I've had one of those weeks where the non-monetary rewards of working at the Stewart Centre have really shone through - retaining those and having a few more $$$ in my paypacket as well, I think will be enough to keep me. But I'll give myself a few days to draw up a list of the pros and cons before I make a decision one way or t'other.

Good idea to think about this for a while Jode. Can you accept the extra hours anyway, but still leave your mind open to thinking about the other job when you are offered it?

There must have been another reason (or two) apart from money that made you aplly for another job. After all, its a lot of effort and stress when we job hunt. So you must have had good reasons to go for it.

Anyway, congratulations for the extra hours.
