Wow just came in today and everything is new. I think I quite like it! I do have a comment tho'. I do miss seeing where people are from as it gives an indication of who is local, how local, eg North Canterbury, or what country they're from. I find it really helps to know where approximately people are based.

Gosh! Look what happens when one turns ones back for 5 minutes... everything is different.. but in a great way. Just have to explore a bit and find my way about again. I am npot sure that I have done the updating thing right. I think I have the same problem that Sandyk has mentioned already Lee.

I note that the "Birthdays" section on the homepage is not up and running yet. When will this kick in as I would hate to miss anyones birthday?

Hi Katy,

Yeah I think you will. The new system seems to be having a bit of a problem trying to deal with - in usernames, it just cannot cope, poor thing it is.

Now that my working week has officially finished (20 mins ago) and my working weekend hasn't yet started (thats tomorrow) I can spend some time and look into it more. Not sure whether to try and make it accept the hyphen, or just remove them all, hah.

Hiya,

The birthdays on the homepage should kick in as soon as people start updating their profiles (though there are still a few changes we need to make to some of the fields on the profile page).

I think at the moment it will show birthdays up to 5 days away.

I do believe that everyone is thrilled with the new look forum. Thank you, Lee, you have clearly spent many hours developing this excellent site. There are bound to be teething problems for users as they orientate to the software but these are just minor issues. I think it is great and will enjoy for the few weeks I have back at the keyboard!!

Hi Lee
Thanks for all the hard work. My wee problem is the one I mentioned last week ~ I need to slider the bottom slider across to read the whole line of a post. Are others finding this? Maybe the message window needs to be narrowed???
