For those that might be interested, I live on the Sonoma Coast in CA. Bodega Bay is a beautiful place to be with a very safe small community feel to it. It is quite a rugged part of the coast but there are plenty of outdoor pursuits one can participate in here.. scuba diving, fishing , wind surfing, kayaking and just about anything else to with the seaside. Rockfish, salmon and crab are the local delicasies and every year we have a Bodega Bay Fisherman's festival along with the Seafood wine and art/crafts festival. I am into patchwork quilting, and embroidery and aim this year to have several pieces of my work on show and for sale. I have two boys, and have to use my talents to supplement my income because they are growing and I can hardly keep up with clothing let alone feeding them both with their hollow legs.
I came back here to live after my husband was killed in a building site accident in Santa Rosa which is the nearest large town near here. There is a mix of quite grand homes and small quaint beach bungalows which at the time were affordable. Soon my eldest Todd (12) will have to go to SR daily for schooling. Kirk is 9 going on 19.
If any of you saw the Hitchcock movie "The Birds," you will have been to Bodega Bay via that movie for here is where it was filmed.
Other movies or parts of, have been made here too, but I reckon that one is pretty famed, and most would know it.
I don't get much time to spare because I do work in a restaurant in another little place not far from here, called Occidental and I also do cleaning and work in the bar at one of the best golf courses in CA. on the other days. .Bit of a beachcomber on days off, but it is what saves my sanity, and the air is fresh at least. I hope that I will be able to visit with you once or twice a week and look forward to making new friends among you.
