Hi Ladies,
I've just joined the site and love what i see ... Real women taking about real issue - Just my cup of tea!

Well, I'll tell you ladies alittle bit about me... Right now, I'm caught up in a job i can do, but do not enjoy ... but i need it to pay the bills! I would like more time with my 2 boys - but there aren't enough hours in a day. I am a trained Social Worker with about 9 years work experience, as you may know - it doesn't pay much, but demands LONG hours and a lot of giving of yourself. In short, I want to get out!!!!!

I know that the only way I can realize this dream is to have my own business - ideally set up on the net, literally running it self! I just don't know what to "sell" on the net.... I have played with a few ideas... but not gone beyond that. The issue is I could rather do something well than do a shabby job, so I want to start "my business" right ! I just need the tide to turn for me soon - I don't want to spend my life chasing a dream!

Well, thats me, full of ideas, dreams, and vision but with no financial back-up to make them a reality.... I want to make sense of my life before I hit middle age. At 34 yrs I don't have very long to go...

I am a born and breed Ugandan but and not at all patriotic! I left my country FOR GOOD and now live and work in New Zealand! I have no wish to return to it, I guess I gave up on it because IT gave up on me! My country has an invisible economic ceiling... You can't raise above that ceiling unless you speak the language of corruption. Mu husband tried again and again to push beyond this invisible shield, but we kept being kicked down constantly. After a while it gets to you. Either "They" break your spirit so you join "THEM", OR you struggle with the poverty OR you leave the country if you can - We left! No regrets.

I love New Zealand because it's a blank canvas.... I can make a new life here. Give my children new opportunities. Enjoy the beauty of the land without the oppression. I am grateful to be here - so many Ugandan would love to be in my shoes... So I'm constantly humbled.

So ladies, any ideas? Is anyone doing an internet based business? Has anyone found the secret to less work, longer days and MORE money????

Black Velvet you are most welcome among us.
I think you are like our ancestors very brave to take on a new country.
I hope you will find something you can enjoy doing.

Selling on the net is not easy from what I hear.
Working in IT can be an option; that makes good money & in some jobs you can work from home.

I am now retired but spent the last 25 years in our own business.
I found that you have to work much harder & do all the worrying as well.
At times it can make your home life hard as you can't get away from the business problems.
There were many days when I just wanted to work for a wage; go home at the end of the day & forget it.

I hope you will come in here often & let us know how you are getting on.
I wish you good luck in whatever you do.

To kill time try working it to death.
