I started taking omega three about 4 months back , at a time when my arthritis was giving me gyp in spite of taking a Glucosomine and Condroiton combination as well. Was also told that it could be beneficial for the dry skin I have, by treating it more from the inside.
I hated the big tablets I had to swallow at first, and they repeated on me something dreadful and I nearly gave up on them when the first small bottle I had bought was nearly gone. Anyway, I saw some on special and decided that it would be silly to give up after only a wee small bottle and to buy some and give them a fair trial. I had read somewhere, that many of these natural health supplements do need to be taken over a prolongued time before benefits are felt and that people make the mistake of giving up on them too soon.
After a while the side affects settled and then as we got into the winter I felt that there certainly was a marked improvement in my flexibility and my joints were not so painful I have had other health issues... been back and forth to the Docs having all sorts of tests done, but my arthritis has been the very least of them . Anyway, today my 3 monthly repeat prescription for BP needed to be filled so i rang to see if I could just pick it up ? Sick to death of that place lately. But no, we have to talk about latest lot of results etc. and he would rather check my BP this time than just leave a script to be filled. Well.... surprise , surprise! He tells me that my BP is the best it has been since 1992.! With the stress I have had, he said he expected it might be otherwise, so what had I been doing to achieve this lowering ? Well I didn't have a clue... nothing different really. But then later, I thought of and wondered about the Omega 6.
Called into the health shop to ask if that was a known benefit of Omega 3 and the lady there said, " yes... it is very good for coronary care as well as for arthritis. ! Well, that must be it. You would think that that would have been all over the container it came in , wouldn't you ? I am glad that I did not give up on taking it. She did say that those taking blood thinners by prescription should never take Omega 3 . It actually does say that on the container, but I never put two and two together. Anyway, nothing I take is in that category so it has done me a power of good in more ways than one!. Woo hoo! I feel great!
