Sylke, I can't believe you would really want to know anything about me! But I am grateful that you are not "pushing me aside".

Don't know where to start really. I'm 52 - English by birth. My parents emmigrated to the USA in 1967 where I spent the next 3 years. Returned to England to finish my schooling and then my parents moved to Sydney, Australia where I stayed for the next 2 years. Then I moved to New Zealand at the age of 19 where I worked at the Chateau Tongariro as a housemaid. Moved on to Auckland after that. Then down to Christchurch. Went back to England in 1975 and returned to Christchurch in 1976 where I started dating my husband. We moved back to Australia in late 1977 where we stayed until January 2003. Then we moved back to New Zealand - and we are hoping to stay here through retirement. So have been married 27 years this year. No kids, just DOGS (as you may have already gathered from my previous postings) - I have mainly worked as a legal secretary but would like to dedicate at least some of my life to help with animal welfare. I've done so much moving around, I really don't know where to call home. But I still love England and miss it every day of my life. I have a best friend there whom I have known since we were 6 years of age and we keep in touch to this day. I may have come off as a callous bitch to some of you but really, I am not. I just get very emotional and carried away sometimes....

That's all about me for now. How about you Sylke? I would like to know more about you.. I don't know your story.....

I have visions of all these sheilas sitting at their desks, with their hand waving in the air, shouting PICK ME, PICK ME. I'm sure we will all get a turn and this way there is time to digest the details of each contributor. Nice to get to know you Pozzie.

Ok. Im Sylke. and I come from Auckland, New Zealand. Had a career as a HS teacher and several years teaching at Unitec. Changed careers in late 90's when I went to graduate school and at the same time changed husbands (not to be recommended).
Changing husbands entailed changing countries so have been in Arizona for all the 00's. It has been a reverse culture shock!!
In my attempts to pursue a new career in management of the arts I have had some interesting jobs. In my attempts to simply make a living I have had some ghastly jobs! A new opportunity sees me back in education and I counsel educators who wish to pursue Masters and Doctoral degrees. This is 'for profit' education - anathema to this Kiwichick...but an interesting phenomena - 100 percent online education at fully accredited universities. I find this very fulfilling and am seriously considering pursuing a PhD myself...in Organizational Leadership. However, for many reasons I had hope to be back home by now...such is my dilemma. Am a part time actor and consultant for not for profit organizations. (am Gemini)
Am mother to one daughter and grandmother to two gorgeous grandchildren. Being away from old friends and family is hard.
RW has filled the void in ways you girls will never know.

Whoa, that got me in the hot spot didn't it! OK. Born in 57, in Adelaide, the big 50 next year. Living in Gladstone 200K's north of Adelaide and on my 4th husband (successfully married 7 years), always had a problem with strays, started with animals continued with men (mostly animals!). Am raising my soon to be 15 year old daughter, homeschooling, running a seed grading business, extending and renovating our home on 9 acres and am also a Creative Memories consultant. Probably have ADD as I am always looking for one more project. Have felt Isolated at times since moving to Gladstone 4.5 years ago and finding RW has been a Godsend. Small rural towns revolve around Sport, School and Pub, none of which we do and working from home meant I had no social conduit here. Have made some wonderful friends over time. Believe in a "God" of some sort, don't put up with too much bull any more and in the last 10 years have finally grown to like myself and be more accepting of others.
