To be honest, I am doing this simply because we have not had any new posts under the 'Beauty ' heading for so long, and I am tired of seeing the "Bags under the Eyes" header sitting there on the top, so time for a new subject methinks. Figured I would move to the other end of the body and talk about feet.
I don't know about you ladies, but I admit to really not giving my feet any more than the most cursory attention over the years. And yet, they get a real hammering . The deserve a much better deal than they ever get, after all, they bear the brunt of my weight, standing for hours, rushing hither and thither other times, and it is no wonder they hurt like hell at times. It would be in protest of course, but really, I have not listened very carefully to their complaints over the years, and now I have got fallen arches, corns and callouses, rough skin, ridged and ingrown toe nails!. Have I ever trotted off on them to give them a regular spot of pampering and care from a chiropodist, podiatrist, or even a pedicurist ? No, really, not regularly. Although, in fairly recent times, but not often enough to do a heck of a lot of good. I have enjoyed the luxury of 3-4 pedicures , down at the mall. About the only thing I have ever done for my feet has been superficial - like painting my toenails dark red, for the summer just because they are more on show then, and if they are lucky, and because I am sometimes bare legged, they might get oiled or moisturised - even if it is only sunblock ! Right now, moving into winter, I realise that I am moving into feet 'torture' time. This is the time when my toes will be compressed by socks every day, and stuffed into enclosed boots and shoes every day. This is the time when they will be scorched in front of fires and heaters, and will hardly even get to see the light of day, let alone be moisturised or clipped and trimmed. This is the time when the arthritis in my ankles , along with the circulation in my toes, will be at its worst. I can't decide which season my feet hate the most. In summer the swell up into a couple of spongey , pudgy big blodders, and in winter, they shrivel and wrinkle and feel cold and numb like a couple of dead flat fish.
I happened to mention how much my feet hate me and the way I have not treated them well over the years, in front of son's fiance one day about a month ago. She is the sweetest, most caring girl I could wish for as daughter in law, and now since then, just about every time she comes here, or I go to their place, she insists in my soaking my feet in her footspa at her place, or at my place, it is one of those plastic tool trays with a central division and handle in the middle... tools get tipped out, and in goes the hot water and radox, followed by my feet. I am made to sit there, glass of wine at hand to soak them until the water has gone cold. Another glass of wine is poured next,- or, if preferred, my son is despatched to go and make us a cuppa, and then out comes the 'sander' the files, and strippers. Next is the best bit... the oiling and massage. Ooh... it is so lovely ! She has the magic touch this girl, and it makes my feet glow with absolute pleasure. She insists that she loves doing it , and used to do it for her own mother and father on a regular basis back home in England. Oh boy... all I can say is, I bet they are really missing her ! My feet and I , are really loving it .

OMG you lucky duck. Would you please send me your sons fiance. The way my poor feet are at the moment I could keep her here indefinitely. Foot neglect? Guilty Your Honour.
It is as good as a full cardio workout just to reach the dam things.

My feet have gone on strike after reading that Katy, they are in protest of the lovely pampering and I think they've gone off to see their union rep ...I'm for it now...I think they have stomped off!!

I just finished my pre-summer pedicure this morning. I swear they looked like hooves before I started

Talking about pampering,..not of the feet though.

Last year, as part of my birthday gift, I received a gift voucher for a manicure from the local beauty salon.

Now, that was divine too, ...she commented on my already soft hands, ...my reply, they hadn't done a real hard day's work in their life, LOL.

Anyway, with all the nail treatment, buffing, cuticle treatment, & finally choice of nail varnish, I chose white, as I don't like bright colours on geriatric hands.

I fair sailed out of that salon, relaxed, & with very soft pretty hands.

One face and two feet, I think is what FH meant Lucky. Well... that would apply to most of us I guess, but there could be the odd ( very odd) one legged two faced bitch around I s'pose. LOL....
My finger nails are very hard to keep nice. I am one of those people who goes out in the garden without gloves, who cleans ovens, and showers and all of those mankey chores without gloves too. Not only that, I have brittle nails which tear and split easily too. I do keep hand cream beside me next to the computer and where I watch telly but in spite of regular use of it, I still have work worn and torn hands. If I am going to attend anything really special I will go and have them done professionally, but I don't like doing it all of the time - can't afford it any old how!

Oh my goodness It just occured to me that there is another "F" we should pamper too!!! Oooooooooh maybe Fey meant
