We celebrate it at work tomorrow ... long story but I am away on Friday so tomorrow it is ...
Apart from selling daffodil pins we are having a bakesale. So ... have been domestic godessing tonight. And, I must say, it has been so therapeutic (sp? doesn't look right but I am off duty so who cares!). Makes a pleasant change to be cooking midweek instead of doing bluddi homework!
Used the fantastic and oh-so-easy Chocolate Cake Company recipe for chocolate cupcakes. Made 2 dozen in white cases and decorated them in cheat (Betty Crocker) vanilla frosting tinged yellow with silver balls on top, and 2 dozen in yellow cases with white shiny eggwhite icing with wee yellow and green spinkles. Then cellophane wrapped and yellow-beribboned packets of rocky road on yellow cardboard bases. As well as the oh-so-ridiculously-easy-and-cheap shiny iced and decorated roundwine biscuits ~ have put 6 per cellophane package and will sell for 50c. I figure that for my $20 investment and 2 hours of work my contributions will raise $80.
My 12 trusty student helpers are busy making all wonder of yellow-inspired goodies ... or perhaps their dedicated mums are. Custard, passionfruit, lemon ... We WILL reach our target of $1000 tomorrow for the Cancer Society through our bakesale and by selling daffodils.
Tis an easy cause to feel passionate about. Who among us hasn't been touched in some way by cancer?
