I'm an old fashioned girl. The fashions of the 1960s were my ideal time. Unfortunately the face and figure are no longer of that era.

I'm in fashion limbo. Working in a lab and factory for 13 years and having to wear unattractive protective clothing and steel capped boots have me out of practice. And being at unitec the fashion norm is casual and comfy so again, no need to challenge myself. I've become lazy. I dont go out that often and when I do, its usually to a themed party.

But if I asked myself what style would I choose to wear... actually I dont really care as long as I'm comfortable but presentable. Although when I'm in the mood to make an effort I know how to make myself look stunning

It has been so long since I went anywhere that warranted fashion I would not know where to begin.

Picking up a friend at the bus the other day I spotted a to-die-for serape in black with a white V down the front.
I walked strait in & bought it.
Bluidy heck what got into me?
That cape would have looked stunning on me 40 years ago.
I have never done anything like that before.
Maybe I am loosing my marbles -- Oh well I do have a fashionable Daughter that I can pretend I bought it for.

To kill time try working it to death.

Make sure that you wear it Fey Hag cos it will look beautiful on you now too...We can't have the young 'uns thinking they've inherited the earth already.

You must have truly loved it to act so impulsively FH. You jolly well keep it and wear it - it was meant to be !.
I am in the same era as Faye... I loved those 60's fashions too - Gad ! I had some gorgeous shoes then too... shoes were my passion back then. Lovely stilettos in all colours . Remember when "mountie Red " and Sherwood Forrest were the 'in' colours. for shoes? I couldn't wait to cram my feet into a pair of those winklepicking , high heels to toddle off down the main street in, with my full skirts swaying over my rustling , stiffened petticoats !. The cinched in waistlines... .. Oooh.... and the hair do's !! Remember the Beehives and the kiss curls. Clutch bags, and gloves.... oh and what about those little feathered hats that used to curl around the shape of your head and when you took them off they sort of rolled up. You could wear them over the top of your head, or around the back of your head.
Crickey the things they did to chooks tails in those days !! I had a bright red one, and also another dark teal one - the colour of wild ducks wings. Probably was plucked from a duck. They were cute little hats, and didn't we think we were the very last word in fashion wearing then !
Wish we could turn the clock back. .... Still, I suppose I am lucky that I can remember back that far !.

Camel hair, if I remember. Oh I had clothes to die for. I had a gorgeous pale blue wool coat, full length, that just enclosed me in warmth and style. Swing back style, big collar. It hid absolutely everything and I had pale blue shoes to match. Yes, those tiny waists that we showed off with pride and big skirts to emphasise how little our waists were. We really dressed up for every occasion, hats, gloves, stockings, high heels, the works. Well, nowadays a pair of pull-on pants and a sloppy T shirt does the job and I must say this style (?????) of dressing is very comfortable.
