Well, that is a lot less effort than rubbing butter into flour with finger tips ! I love nice easy , peasy recipes and I love Date scones, and I also love anything lemony, so I am going to have a whack at these Faye. I will not tempt the fate of haviong a walking heart attack though, and will desist from putting the jam and cream topping on them to serve. Oooh... but it 'ud be luverly tho woodnit be ! I have made scones successfully with lemonade, and with cream in them before, but I have never ever put an egg in a scone yet. There is a first time for everything they say !. I missed Master Chef last night, I was probably too busy out in the kitchen making Apricot Chutney. When I came in from work today, I could smell the pungent spicy smell of still lingering in my house as soon as I opened the door. Some would find it revolting no dougt, but it just made me head straight for the pantry for some crackers, and cheese, and I spooned a small dollop of chutney onto a few, and .. oh yes... yum, yum... I know I shouldn't do these things, but what the heck... a taste of some goodies now and then is what we all need to make life worth living..
