I know this is a really old thread ~ and, as one who was totally spooked by seeing (my name on) a really old thread on RW this past week ... it feels odd to be posting but ...
I recently had the fortune of being "gifted" 500 foodie mags by a Food Tech Teacher friend who is going overseas. She was about to consign these treasures to students for cutting up (that is, using for pictures for projects). I interjected and "volunteered" to take them off her hands. So, have had a delicious salivating week of visually devouring the following magazines: Delicious (Australian and rather highbrow), Taste (kiwi ~ yes!!!), Cuisine (kiwi), Foodtown (kiwi, yes!!!), Dish (okay), Donna Hay (Australian ~ cookbooky), Healthy Food Guide (kiwi ~ great!) … So, ripped dozens of pages from my favourites, have lent the boxes of mags to neighbours for ripping, then will return the cartons of mags to school to students to use for their projects.
I will now think about buying Taste & Foodtown ~ though, better still, will try to photocopy recipes from library copies. I already buy the Healthy Food Guide which is brilliant.
I do lots of cooking/baking these days ~ all thanks to having an appreciative sampler in Mr Suse as well as a paid outlet via his business. My alltime favourite and much-referred-to reference point is trademe recipe board (via the community part of TM) and, particularly, trademecooks.co.nz.
