Hi there
I'm a newbie to this site. I went and spoke to my GP a couple of weeks ago about my weight and told him to be blunt with me and what my future holds for me if I stay the way I am (currently 127kgs and 43yrs old). Boy, he didn't hold any punches. Told me I wouldn't be able to work until I was 65, my weight was taking 10-15 years off my life expectancy, diabetes etc etc. So he suggested a referral to a surgeon who performs lap band surgery. My husband and I saw him last week and he was really nice. He thought gastric sleeve resection (taking part of the stomach away) would be better for me as with the band you are able to cheat and there is the ongoing thing with expanding or deflating the band which means you have to visit the doctor on a fairly regular basis. Anyway I've decided to go thru with it and was wondering if anyone else had had it done?
