Smooth as a Babies bottom ! 1 Year, 7 Months ago
Fabulous ! That is what I thought as I drove home this afternoon after a spur of the moment experience. I had finished work, but had to drop some things at the local Dry Cleaner , which is not a place I go to very often. I found to that a new beauty place had opened right next to it, and on a big sign in the window it advertised Eyebrows and Facial hair removal.
Well, I had just spent several minutes the day before trying with a pair of tweezors to tidy up my eyebrows which of course, after removing my specs to get at them, I could no longer see them. Self beautification treatments have become a very frustrating and sometimes blood letting procedure, when I accidently 'tweeze' a chunk of skin in the process. I had been toying with the idea of seeking professional help in this dept. for awhile.
The girls seemed to be all sitting around with no clients so in I went and asked how much it would cost ? " Eyebrows , $5, upper lip $5 , chin $5 , " and so on the young Asian girl chanted at me -" can do you right now ." she offered. I decided that I might as well treat myself to $20 worth !
How fascinating... I have never had this 'threading ' type of hair removal before, and apart from a slight tingling sensation , it was quite painless really. As I was lying down while she was working, I could not see what was going on, but when she had finished I ran my hands over my face and I don't remember ever feeling so smooth , in my life before. Well not for a good many years anyway, since my hormones all ran haywire.
Afterwards, I rushed off to my favourite coffee shop, to have an energy fix before heading for motorway, and home . Every now and then I ran my hand down my cheeks and under my chin, and marvelled with delight at the soft , smoothness of it, telling myself my face felt as smooth as babies bottom. When I got home and had a real good look at myself in the mirror, I thought " Oh my God.... my face even LOOKS like a babies bottom too............................yeah, yeah , yeah...... ...one with nappy rash !

I've got one of those rolling hair removers KKKaty.

Great for the legs etc, but I am loath to use on my face down, in case it regrows with a vengeance!

So I just put up with the down, & tweezer the odd stubble & tidy the odd eyebrow. Gulp.

This story reminded me of a story I heard recently.

Little Wendy came home from school and her mother asked what she had learned that day.
"We learned how to make babies," said Wendy.
"What?" cried her mother, aghast. "You leaned how to make babies?"
"Yes," said little Wendy. "You drop the 'y', put in an 'i' and add 'es'.

Hehehe. I have my eyebrows threaded, and occasionally my face too, and yup the old rash is fun but it doesn't last, and waxing does it too. Actually I had my eyebrows done last week. Sarah is the only person who can give me the perfect shape, and she does a perfect job of everyone's. We hold a girls' party, just wine and juice and some snacks, talk up a storm and take it in turns. It is THE best fun ever. She also tints eyelashes and brows.
Unfortunately I am one of the ones that feels it big time. Some do, some don't. Ah well, one has to suffer for one's beauty!

I'm a great fan of threading. Had waxing for years but it tends to leave me very red. Threading, it has to be said, hurts like hell but only momentarily. I'm sure the fleshier we are the more it hurts, but never mind. Great results and as cheap as chips.

Hehe... I will be doing this again, that is for sure, when the time comes. I must be quite thick skinned though, because I didn't find it painful at all, more, tingly and only for a short time. One thing though, I will go straight home and stay till the redness fades. I would not have gone for a coffee, had I realised how "red faced" it had left me. It was all back to normal by the next day though, no inflamation , rash or anything to mar my new look. Yippee.... I am definitely converted, and the tweezers are redundant from here on !
