Since returning to work after the hols, and taking on a couple of extra chores which keep me busier during the day and are making me more tired by the late afternoon, Once I get home, I do tend to just want to flop into a chair and chill out, usually falling asleep , sometimes for so long that I have felt too tired to even be bothered to prepare a proper healthy meal. So, to get around that, I have been trying to think ahead and prepare meals ahead, so that I always have something nourishing to have as soon as I do get in. Whether it is one, two or three oclock in the afternoon. That is when I have been tending to have my main meal of the day, lately. It then, doesn't matter if I fall asleep for a few hours afterwards, because I have had my daily vegetables and can relax. If and when I do get hungry later, I can easily just make a light meal later, say a boiled egg, or a club sandwhich or something I would normally eat for lunch. Sometimes just fruit on its own. I
I have found more than one benefit to having the main meal earlier and a very light one later. I am sleeping better when I do go to bed - even if I have had a big afternoon nap earlier. I have had no heart burn/ acid reflux at night, or any uncomfortable bloated feelings in my tummy either.
Since it has been so hot I have also got into the habit of drinking more water. I have made a conscious effort to do that because I don't believe that I have ever drank enough water in my life. Tt has not been that easy to get into the habit of doing so at this late stage and some of the more undesirable side effects that I expected have not happened at all. I am NOT getting up to pee in at 2 a.m. , any more than I did before. I just go once, same as before, but, I do, do more in volume Therefore my . body does not feel as though it is trying to hang on to the fluids. My feet are still swelling up during the day though, but I think it is early days yet. In the whole, I do feel as though my kidneys are getting a good fushing , and that cannot be a bad thing. Doctor prescribed frusemide for my puffy feet, but I am just not taking them. I think that in time our system comes to rely on these things, and we loose our own functionability. Besides, if I take them, my arthritis is always worse too, I have noticed. Even that has not been too bad of late . Interesting.
