Thanks for asking, Lee Donna. I really appreciate it. Today just happens to be my last day in my current job and I have mixed feelings about it: I can't wait to get out of there and away from our terrible management but I will miss my brilliant workmates. I am also scared about the prospect of not getting paid as hubby doesn't earn much for his work. It's been an awful journey with some pretty big lows in that I have been for lots of interviews but don't seem to be able to land a job. I feel like I am falling into a big hole skill wise and that no one wants me. I had a session with a counsellor about it a few weeks ago and she was great and has given me some good ideas and coping skills. I am going to temp until something turns up so that should give me a bit of breathing space.

Good Luck AJ, I am sure there will be something out there for you, and you never know, you may discover something you really want to try when temping, or a company you might like to work for. A friend of mine was doing temping and then landed herself an awesome job through a company she was temping for, they asked her to stay permanatly. So go for it and show them what you're capable of, HUGS.

Cheers Sandy K. That's what I am kinda hoping - that temping will point me in a different direction and maybe open up possibilities I hadn't thought about. I have been trying, only semi-successfully, to get away from nursing for years so this might be it...

AJ people steal the temps all the time for officework anyway. I don't know about nursing. It can be quite good too as you learn where you DON'T want to work too. Of course that can be a problem if you eliminate too many places! I hope the temping works for you. I remember you saying that you had cut costs as much as you could.

Anyway, as they are such bad management you are likely to feel like a weight has lifted once you are away from there. Then your confidence is likely to improve. They sound as if they have been sucking it out of you. That makes it harder to sell yourself when you try for a job. Once you feel better about yourself, you'll land a job. Thanks Lee Donna. You have described how I feel perfectly in that my confidence has been sucked out of me. The counsellor I saw recently said that is probably coming across in my interviews too so I need to work on that. I intend to have this coming week off with my family to chill then I hopefully will be ready to face the job market again.

AJ, how are you getting on with your job search or have you found you like temping? What kind of work have you managed to get?

Thanks for asking, Homebush Gal. I don't have another job lined up but I have two days work trial tomorrow at a medical clinic as a Practice Nurse. I feel ambivalent about it as it is full time and I really don't want to work full time and I also don't really want to be a nurse. But I do need a job and I am prepared to give it a go. I am hoping I will get in there and really like the challenge so wish me luck. This whole job thing has really knocked my confidence, especially my last boss who seemed to love putting me and everyone else down because she is so inept, but also being made redundant for the second time in 18 months.
