Thanks Jess I really appreciate the 'bump'

I started on Reductil 2 weeks ago and since then have suffered dizziness, headaches and been feeling really grumpy.
I'm really sensitive to most medications so was wary taking this one. My doctor left it up to me which strength I would prefer....being greedy I wanted the 15 mg. I was concerned on the dosage so asked the pharmacist what the difference was between the 10mg and the 15 mg and he said ' 5 mg', i wanted to wring his neck at that stage....duh!!
So I went home and look up on 'google' what the suggested dose was, and printed it off for him., it was ' take 10 mg for the first month, if there is a weight loss of 4 kg continue with the tablets, if the weigh loss was under 4 kg then increase to the 15 mg.

So I start to the 10 mg and feel great the first week, but by the 2 nd week I'm feeling like sh*t. I'm dizzy all the time, it's like I turn my head and it follows 3 seconds later. I'm nauseous and my headaches have increased. And I'm so damned grumpy!!!!

All this and I've lost one whole kilo in the first week - nothing in the second week!

Today I wake up and decide not to take the reductil tablet and see what happens......3 hrs later and I feel fine!

I've had not increased heart/blood pressure rate, or anxiety ..just a steady dizziness that makes me feel sick.

So good to know that it's reductil causing it, and so good to see this thread that confirms how bad it is for me.

Thanks so much.....

I know you're not a diet site and I didn't want to irritate anyone...but I surely appreciate the honesty.

Please please dont take reductil, i nearly died because of this drug, and now have an enlarged heart, high blood pressure, palpatations , arrythmia etc, and have to take loads of medication for life, because of this dreadful drug. Its banned in some countries and should be banned all over the world.

Reductil was first developed as an antidepressant, but was later used as a weight loss tool once the manufacturers found that weight loss was a side effect of this drug.
So it was never classed as a slimming pill.....

Of course now it is used as a weight loss reduction pill, with lots of success, and for some no success at all because of the side effects.

I believe it's best not to mess with the 'mind' anymore than you have to...

so it's back to self discipline for me
