My father left when I was eight years old. I was always a medium framed girl but, I enjoyed sports and kept my weight down. My father and mother divorced and that's when everything went down hill. We were so close and I was his baby girl.

Then my mother would tell me that he had his own family and that was why he wouldn't come pick me up and spend time with me.

I had blamed myself for him leaving and then my grades started to drop from all A's to C's and D's. I stopped playing sports and stayed in the house. I became an emotional eater and very insecure. By the time I hit puberty, I was 13 years old and 140LBs. I have been over-weight for a very long time.

I am now 20 years old and weigh 260 lbs. I was so depressed when I graduated from Highschool and I did not want to live, but I did not do anything about it. Just a lot of sulking and being in a bad mood with everyone. That same summer after graduation, I found out that I was diabetic. I had almost slipped into a comma. I realized that I had to take care of myself and not worry about my father.

Everything is better than it was before, but every now and then I get depressed because I try to loose the weight, but I am still an emotional eater.
