Today I went to the funeral of a friend, not a real close friend just a woman that I would talk with as part of my job. But she always made me laugh. She was real friendly and sounded like she was enjoying life. I came away from that service today feeling like I had known her all her life, so good were the speakers that you almost followed her life from a child to the present day. The most humbling part of the service was to hear her son stand up and say 'Thank you mum for bringing us up on your own. And thank you for giving me the most wonderful gift of life.' What a tribute. I just thought I would share that with all the girls on the site, we take so much for granted and I guess its a lesson for us all to take on board "Share the love while you get the chance." Comments

Mum was only 64 and it was totally unexpected so there's so much I would have said given the chance.
Things like, Thanks for being so brave and having me as a single 19-year-old in 1962, which was pretty rare at the time.
And for everything else over my 45 years.
You were always there, sometimes too much I felt, but oh what I'd do now just to be able to hear you laugh, or even cry, and ask if I've got my washing in, `It's going to rain soon, dear', or if I finished my course of antibiotics.
I always assured her I was in fact an incredibly young Nana now and maybe I was OK. But she'd just smile. For she knew that no matter how old we are there ain't no one like a mum.
Love you Little Yvonne. Sleep well.
Anyway, back to the point, please friends, ring your mothers, take them out for lunch, send a home-made card, or just do something she will find special, because you never know when it will be too late....
